Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Primrose jasmine, Jasminum mesnyi, is a rambling, open evergreen shrub or sprawling vine with long, slender, arching stems with glossy dark green leaves reminiscent of the more commonly grown. J. nudiflorum. Without support, it grows in a fountain-like mound 5 feet high and wide and can be used as a ground cover including on slopes. With some support you can grow it against a wall or on a trellis. The fragrant, yellow, trumpet-shaped flowers are borne in early spring and sporadically into summer. 'Full Moon' has hose-in-hose double flowers.

Also known as Jasminum primulinum, a mounding shrub to 4-5 ft or a vine to 10 ft or more, these with green leaves and some gold variegation. But the flowers are bright yellow and double, very striking from spring through autumn. Sun for best color but very adaptable to shade. Drought tolerant though appreciates occasional summer water in dry climates. Frost hardy to 10F, the bottom of USDA zone 8. Shared with us by Ted Stephens of Nurseries Carolinianus.
