Also known as "Boxleaf Honeysuckle" or "Privit Honeysuckle" hardy to zone 6. A horizontally branched shrub with small green leaves makes a lovely low hedge for sun to part shade. Fragrant tiny yellow funnel shaped flowers in May tucked amidst the foliage. Mature plants bear violet berries in fall. Grows 2' tall and can spread 5' wide.
Privit Honeysuckle. A small, low spreading shrub or low hedge from China. It has small bright-green leaves and, when mature, small but gorgeous violet berries . Semi-evergreen, shiny green leaves. One of several plants called Boxleaf Honeysuckle. Horizontal branches tend to build layer upon layer. Needs a fair bit of shade in warmer areas - doesn't like the warm summers of the deep South.
