A ground cover of SPARKLING SILVER that will create a shining carpet in moist, part shade areas. Only a few inches tall, this perennial is dense enough to smother most weeds; leaves are larger than other cultivars. A single plant will eventually cover a 3’ square area. Lavender flowers show off nicely against the bright foliage late spring early summer. Evergreen for us, looking great even in winter, but we do shear it back once in a while to keep the foliage looking perky. Also makes a superb bulb cover. Will cascade and spill over rocks and from pots.
Lamium maculatum ‘Ghost’ is an outstanding groundcover with silvery-green leaves edged in dark green. Displays magenta flowers. Deadnettle likes any well-drained soil. This low growing CLIFF HANGER® plant will form a trailing mat of foliage and is a good selection for rock walls and containers.
Selected by Brent Horvath of Intrinsic Perennial Gardens, 'Ghost' features purple flowers over very silver leaves and is very vigorous. It's no secret that I'm not a big fan of groundcover Lamium varieties. However they have their uses and 'Ghost' is an excellent variety. I love to use it in hanging baskets and combo pots for the shade and it blends well with many annuals.
An Intrinsic Introduction! Mostly silvered foliage is what caught our eye on this Lamium. Purple flower clusters fit right in. Vigorous grower to 10-12" tall. Full sun with moisture or part shade, well drained soil. (Groundcover)
'Ghost' is a recent introduction from Intrinsic Perennial Gardens. It is a larger form of Dead Nettle (its common name) forming 1' mounds of silver leaves accented by clusters of bright orchid purple flowers. Even the foliage is larger, each leaf measuring 1
