Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Slow growing deciduous tree with a rounded canopy. It has white bell-shaped flower clusters that are most showy from May to June. From the flowers, grayish-brown drupes form that persist into the fall. Green leaves change to yellow in the fall, occasionally with tones of red.
Small deciduous flowering tree with horizontal branching and a pleasing rounded form, it can eventually reach 20-30’ high and wide. Pendulous clusters of fragrant white bells May>June are sweet and showy. Sun to part shade (especially in hot areas), enjoys rich organic acidic soil with moderate moisture.
Small leaves and profuse white bell-shaped flowers in June. Best planted where the masses of pendant blossoms may be seen from below, such as along a rock wall or embankment. Pest-free, hardy, and rapid-growing; occasional pruning when it is young encourages an open branch habit so that its flowers are more easily seen.
Small spreading tree with dangling white bell shaped flowers in the spring. You will never forget gazing up into flowering branches of a snowbell tree. 8?-10 in ten years. Older trees may get 20-30? tall and wide. This is the cream-of-the-crop in a remarkable genus. Awards: First Class Certificate and Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society. Perfect white bell-shape flowers with light fragrance nod gracefully along the branches in May. Dark green leaves about 2” long turn yellow before dropping in autumn. Decorative green fruit follows flowers into summer. The overall shape is upright and pyramidal with horizontal side branches, making a nice canopy.
Japanese Snowbell produces masses of white very fragrant flowers in late spring. Most of these shrubby trees stay about 15', but I have seen one 25'. zone 6
A large shrub/small tree (to 25')"of dainty beauty... the branch tips drooping elegantly"(Barber ; Phillips); lovely in e.summer with fragrant, pendulous white bells under the leaves; source of incense ; umbrella handles! PSh/M
Perfect white bell flowers in groups of 3-6 that are truly a thing of beauty! One of the most delicately beautiful flowering trees. Leaves are perched like butterflies on the branches. Should be used much more. (Can take full sun in Zone 5-6, otherwise, part shade.)

A beautiful deciduous shrub or small tree with graceful, fanlike branches grows to about 25'. Small oval leaves with scalloped edges turn yellow before dropping in the fall. Dainty white bell-shaped flowers dangle down from the branches in June. For the most enjoyment we suggest planting it where these flower clusters can be viewed from beneath. Recommended for planting among Rhododendrons, azaleas and Kalmia. Tends to be bushy when young. To form a tree, trim off the lower branches as it grows. Be sure to water new plants well, as the foliage will burn if it gets dry. This will not hurt the plant, but will look bad. It is easy to grow and is pest and disease resistant.
