    Sasa veitchii is an evergreen groundcover bamboo with green, variegated and white foliage. Features grassy texture. Grows well with sun - mostly shade and regular water. Does well in average and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something for erosion control, humidity tolerant and verticillium wilt resistant.

    Sasa veitchii is an interesting species - like most Sasa it has large leaves, though smaller than many of the others. It is also one of the lowest growing of the Sasa species, usually growing to only 2-3 feet. The main landscaping attraction of this species is that the leaf margins turn a brighter color in the fall (one of the few bamboos to get some fall leaf color action) and then continues to turn white in the winter. Sasa veitchii is one of the best low growing bamboo species to plant next to walkways or among timber species because of its winter interest.
