Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Exceedingly low grower. Our plant is 25-30 years old and is 3” tall x 15” wide. These plants are 1”x3” across. The broad deep green leaves bck up the deep red bells.'
Red flowers atop dainty, nearly oval leaves reaching upwards to 1.5 inches. More of a dome-shaped plant with densely packed leaves. If this plant never flowered it would still rank as a choice selection for the garden.
This plant differs from the species in its dome shaped habit, often with larger leaves and flowers. This variety has light tomentum on the upper surface of the leaves which are dark shiny green, rounded, and slightly puffy and wrinkled on top, with purplish undersides. Tubular, bell shaped, fleshy flowers are bright scarlet or crimson, and are borne singly or in pairs.
