Growth habit is upright and open, occasionally leggy or straggly. Lance-shaped leaves, to 2½" long, are slightly scaly and shiny dark green on top, dense with scales on the undersides. Flowers grow in trusses of 2-6, either on the ends of branches or along the branch between leaf clusters. They are widely funnel-shaped, to 2" across.
