Rhododendron 'PJM' plant details

Rhododendron 'PJM' is a broadleaf evergreen shrub with bronze and green foliage. In spring magenta flowers emerge. Attracts bees making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with mostly sun - mostly shade and even moisture - regular water. Does well in acidic, rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant.

Small-leaved, compact evergreen shrub known for its profuse flowers and neat appearance. Adaptable, hardy, very easy to grow. Dark green foliage is slightly shiny in summer turning dark plum in fall. Bright lavender-pink flowers bloom in profusion in early season.
Bright lavender-pink flowers create a much-needed show so early in the season. Small, shiny leaves turn a rich mahogany-color in winter. Has one of the broadest zone ranges of any rhododendron with its "ironclad" hardiness. Identical to 'PJM Compacta' in every way, except it grows larger.
Lavender A semi-dwarf rhododendron, about 3 - 6 feet tall and wide. Evergreen foliage with good bronze fall color. Small bright lavender pink flowers in early spring. Compact growth habit, will not get out of hand. Good under low windows. Full sun to part shade in zones 4 - 7.

This new hybrid is cold hardy as well as tolerant of heat and sun. Its small, rounded leaves are green during the summer and mahogany colored in winter. 'PJM's' early bright lavender-pink flowers are beautiful against its dark colored winter foliage. (minus var. minus Carolinianum Group x dauricum)
