Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Flowers open a dark wine red with wavy lobes that recurve highlighting the intense purple-black blotch on the dorsal lobe. Leaves are a dark forest green. Also, incorrectly sold as 'Cathy Jo' and 'Kathy Jo'. At least people get the second part of the name right!
Deep wine-purple.
This is the same plant that has been mistakenly sold as 'Cathy Jo'. The correct name is 'Kathie Jo'. A deep wine-purple flower with each lobe folding back to form a very flat face. A delightful rhododendron that has great foliage and is well worth a place in your garden. (['Purple Splendour' x 'Britannia'] x ponticum hybrid)
