Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Large, round truss of blue-purple flowers with a dark black-purple blotch. The light green leaves become darker with more shade. Introduced by the late Bill Whitney in 1976.
If you want excitement, this beautiful blue-purple flower with its deeply colored blotch is it! The hybrid came from the hand of the late Bill Whitney and is legendary for its outstanding truss. Foliage is attractive, though darker green with shade. We offer the true form of 'Blue Pacific' with light, dull green leaves. There is another ponticum hybrid improperly introduced under this name. ('Purple Splendour' x 'Susan')
