A bold, evergreen perennial for the shade garden with bamboo-like shoots arising in early spring. They quickly unfurl into a multi-branched clump, topped in late spring with creamy white or greenish, bell-like flowers. A beautiful plant for the woodland garden, its evergreen nature combined with persistent dark blue berries keeps some interest in the winter shade garden.
Exquisite woodlander from northern India that can reach 5' in height with well branched stems with dangling red flowers. This is far showier than the typical green flowered forms more commonly found. Not that they are all that common. Good rich humusy soil that retains moisture.
