Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A mini Papyrus of Egyptian lore! Architectural starburst leaves on triangular stems 1-2’ tall, plants clumping as wide. Tiny flowers/seeds in tight clusters above the leaves add interest in summer. Being from the Nile, this Baby Tut is sub-tropical and not hardy below 25 degrees. Sink a pot in your water feature in spring and bring it in for the winter, a sunny window and a saucer of water will keep it happy. Wet, boggy soils, submerged… sun to part shade. Perhaps at the base of your pyramid?
If the species is sometimes described as 'tiny palm trees', this cultivar is a teeny-weeny palm tree, a true dwarf, to only 2-3 ft tall. Best perhaps as a container plant where it can be moved into a garage during the worst of winter. Full to part sun, lots of water. Top hardy to 20 °F, USDA zone 9, though sprouts from the roots in zone 8.
