Fragrant, winged, deep-purple flower spikes rise above the dense 2' mound of fine, gray-green foliage. This evergreen shrub is wonderfully tough and easy-care; an optimal specimen for borders and rock gardens that will handle summer heat and drought effortlessly. This popular selection forms a dense shrub with grey-green foliage. The flower stems bear tight flower spikes of small purple flowers crowned by several one inch long magenta purple petal-like bracts that look like butterflies. 'Otto Quast' has a long bloom period from late spring through to fall. Shear lavenders lightly in early spring just as they begin growth and again after flowering to keep tidy.

An extremely popular lavender in California gardens, 'Otto Quast' is a vigorous and durable cultivar to 3' tall with an equal spread. The unusual purple flowers form from mid-spring to fall. Hardy to 10F.

Dense, bushy shrub with lance-shaped, aromatic, silver-gray foliage covers a compact, mounding habit reaching to 2' high, and slightly greater in width. Slender stems support long lasting spikes of deep, royal purple bracts, which have a more intense color than the species.
