    Zauschneria 'Silver Select' is a broadleaf deciduous or semi-evergreen perennial groundcover shrub with blue foliage. In fall and summer red flowers emerge. Attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun and occasional - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers to be dry in summer. Does well in average, gritty and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant.

    A nice bright silver-foliaged selection of the California Fuchsia. This loves a well-drained soil in a hot sunny spot where it has lots of tubular scarlet hummingbird magnet flowers on a plant 12-18 inches tall in late summer. Disappears in winter but comes up from the spreading underground rhizomes. Cut back in spring. This can take a good amount of dry once established and not liked by deer.

    Masses of clear scarlet flowers on this low native ground cover keep the hummingbirds in your garden. Fall blooming: just when you thought the garden had gone to bed. Full sun, good drainage and not much summer water. Selected for its great silver foliage. Frost hardy in USDA zone 6.
