Nursery contributed plant descriptions

From the Alps, this airy European alpine has very fine, narrow, gray-green leaves with clouds of lavender-pink flowers all summer, and clouds of cottony seed heads in fall. It self-sows but easy enough to remove, and anyway, you may want a lot of these delightful and pretty clouds here and there in your garden to create continuity and atmosphere. 18" tall and wide. Attracts hummingbirds. Minimum temperature: -30°F
This compact willowherb from the Alps is under-used in the garden. Its delicate, pink flowers, borne on reddish stems against gray-green foliage, are a welcome addition to any garden. Attractive silvery seed heads add continuing interest. Perennial. Loamy or sandy soils are best. USDA zones 3-8 (up to 8,000').
