The picturesquely twisted branches of this eye-catching shrub/tree grow slowly to reach only 8-10' in height but with a graceful wide-spreading habit to 12-15'. This lovely specimen does not produce flowers, perhaps because the lacey leaves have already stolen the show! Perfect great for container or bonsai, makes a stunning silhouette in winter after the yellow autumn leaves fall. S/M-D PP 9771
Deciduous multi-stemmed shrub or small tree, zigzag branching, especially on new growth, some spines on branches. Leaves dark green, some curling of mature leaflets, turning yellow in fall. Produces few flowers or seed pods. When it does bloom the flowers are white, pea-like pendulous clusters.
Dwarf, contorted tree, white fragrant flowers spring Good in containers. Zones 5-9.
What a great silhouette this has in winter, it is a single to multi-stemmed small tree. Branches zig and zag angularly for a full spreading crown. Mature size of the plant is 10'. The dark green leaves flutter in the lightest breeze for a fantastic shimmering effect all season long.

The contorted nature of this clone creates an interesting winter silhouette. Pendulous rose pink pea like flowers.
This contorted dwarf black locust is a picturesque addition to a garden; the amazing twisting branches will spread out as far as it will grow tall (15'). It produces no flowers, but the curly leaves make up for it. zone 3
We confess to have read this 'Twisted Baby' when we fell in love with it.... Get past the perennial-drought-curled-leaf look--this small tree is an excellent accent plant. A tough, deciduous tree, to 20' in the ground or 4-5' in container, for sun and water to establish. Creamy white, fragrant flowers in spring and yellow fall foliage. Frost hardy in USDA zone 4.
