Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Multi flowering (4-8 per stem), star shaped flowers with white petals with a lilac grey hue…striking orange yellow base, blooming for an extended period March and April. Plants create 8" tall, sweetly fragrant, starry masses in well drained soil in full sun (summer dry). Reputed to be a good naturalizer and a good perennial tulip!
Tulipa turkestanica is a striking star-like tulip with crisp, pure white, pointed petals sometimes with a pink edge or flush and a yellow to orange-yellow centre. Flowers are produced 1-12 per stem atop bluish foliage edged with red. Botanical tulips are miniature to small in size and not far removed from their wild ancestors. They are strongly perennial and will naturalize when happy unlike the large Dutch hybrids which are often treated as annuals or which fail after a couple years.
Blooms: spring, creamy white with orange base , strong growing perennial Zone 3-9. 6"-8", Europe, part shade-sun, moist, well drained
Named for its place of origin, Turkey, this plant is favored due to its early flowering (February-March). Very multi-floral; each flower stem bears several white flowers with bright yellow centers. Its whispy sprays of flowers are very charming. The leaves are gray-green. They naturalize easily. At this price, you can buy plenty! Hardy in zones 5-8.
