Lonicera nitida 'Baggesen's Gold' is a fast-growing broadleaf evergreen shrub with gold, green and variegated foliage. In spring and summer white flowers emerge followed by purple fruit. Misunderstood and underused SHRUB! This is NOT a ferocious, rampant, house eating vine…but a wonderful shrubby 'box honeysuckle'. Dense arching branches with tiny golden, evergreen leaves reaching (if left to it's own devices) 6' high and wide. Fine textured and lemon-limey, its delicate appearance hides a tough constitution. Most soils, sun to light shade; deer resistant and very easy to grow. Can be sheared…I say this with a shudder…good looking anywhere! Fragrant blooms followed by pretty, purple paired berries…sometimes.
