Lamiastrum galeobdolon ‘Herman’s Pride’ is an herbaceous perennial with a compact habit and leaves of silver and dark green on upright stems. In late spring, bright yellow flowers appear. Plant in evenly moist, well-drained soil. Good as groundcover, in containers, hanging baskets, and for naturalizing, Sheer back if the plant becomes too leggy.
Attractively variegated in silvery-white, this smaller-leaved and more upright form of Yellow Archangel makes a wonderful hanging basket or groundcover. Sh-PSh/M
Silvery mottled foliage with bright yellow flowers in early Spring make this mint relative a very useful ground cover. It will fill in an area quickly in full shade to full sun and has never gotten out of hand. I have it sprawling out from under a bench and it looks great.
Yellow Archangel is a clumping form with tiny serrated green leaves dappled silver producing yellow lipped flowers in spring. Growing 6-9" in part shade to shade making a terrific ground cover. Hardy zone 4-8
Bet you can't say galeobdelon three times fast Herman could and he was proud, this tongue twister is an excellent mat forming perennial for shade, the narrow toothed leaves are heavily spotted and streaked with silver, verticillasters of yellow flowers speckled with brown are a nice added touch but it is the foliage that is the star here. ZONE 4
Zones 3-9. Excellent for dry shade. Showy green and silver leaves with yellow flowers midsummer.
