Astilbe glaberrima var. saxatilis is a broadleaf deciduous perennial with green foliage. In spring and summer pink and white flowers emerge. Features fuzzy texture. Troll sized astilbe with glossy, bronzed green, deeply divided ferny foliage, 3-4” tall and clumping to 12-18” wide. Short sprays of pinkish white flowers late summer stand well above the foliage. Will take sun on a wet, boggy site, needs part shade with less water. Prefers moist, fertile, compost enriched soil. USDA Z4
Looks like a dwarf A. simplicifolia and is one of the smallest astilbes. The toothed, dark green foliage reaches about 3". Prefers moist soil, especially in sun.
An elegant miniature, 3-4" tall, slowly spreading. Shiny much-cut foliage, bronze-green, with small pale mauve-pink flower spikes.
