Agave lophantha plant details

Agave lophantha is an evergreen cactus / succulent with chartreuse, green and variegated foliage. Grows well with sun - bright shade and regular - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers to be dry in winter. Does well in average, gritty, lean, rocky and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant, humidity tolerant and verticillium wilt resistant.

Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This tough native to Mexico and the southwestern United States with deep green stripes makes a nice contrast to some of the silver blue agaves which take similar culture. This agave grows slowly to about 2' – 3' feet high and wide.

This plant has been grown in a 5 ga pot. You will receive a very similar plant to the one in the picture. The plant is shipped "dry-root" (with dirt removed from roots).

Clumping agave, each rosette to about 8-12", this form having jewel-green leaves, each about 1" wide, with wide markings in the center. From the mountains of Nuevo Leon, has been frost hardy to the single digits F. Happy with summer water but would like careful winter drainage. Safely, USDA zone 8. Excellent container plant.
Agave lophantha has a nice, structural geometric rosette with lime green stripes down each darker green leaf. Sharp points, dramatic landscape plant that offsets regularly.
Light Shade to Full Sun. Outdoor. Greenish Yellow Flowers on a 12' tall spike.
