Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A strange and curious double-flowered form of the eastern North American native rue anemone with fully double, green flowers with twisted petals. One of the most beautiful spring flowers - a little jewel in the spring garden. Bloom time can last for months -- since the reproductive structures have become petals the flowers cannot be pollinated. Without pollination there is no signal for flowering to stop and petals to fall. That's convenient. Easy in gritty, well-drained soil.

Totally fun selection which manages to combine class, whimsy and garden merit in one small package. This little tuberous gem just gets better with each successive year making nice clumps with lots of flowers if you can keep from dividing them like we do! Light green double pinwheel flowers.
