Nursery contributed plant descriptions

'Shoaf's Double Pink' is classic double-flowered form of the eastern North American native rue anemone (Anemonella thalictroides) with exquisite, fully double, pink flowers. One of the most beautiful spring flowers - a little jewel in the spring garden. Bloom time can last for months -- since the reproductive structures have become petals the flowers cannot be pollinated. Without pollination there is no signal for flowering to stop and petals to fall. That's convenient! Easy to grow in gritty, well-drained soil. Plants go dormant by summer.
