If you can't afford and/or grow double Hepatica, this is your next best bet. The blooms are fully double, appear in great numbers over a long period of time. Given they have a well drained soil, they are very easy to grow in a light shade to shady spot. They like it moist in spring and will bloom longer if the moisture is being kept up into late spring. Once they are done blooming, additional watering can be held off as they'll go dormant in summer.
A classic double-flowered form of the eastern North American native rue anemone with exquisite, fully double, pale pink flowers that can be white in warm climates. One of the most beautiful spring flowers - a little jewel in the spring garden. Bloom time can last for months -- since the reproductive structures have become petals the flowers cannot be pollinated. Without pollination there is no signal for flowering to stop and petals to fall. That's convenient. Easy in gritty, well-drained soil.
We got these years ago from the late Betty Blake, As far as I can tell it is indistinguishable from 'Cameo', a fully double light pink, on the other hand, Betty found a number of clones and this may be from one of her wild collections. In any event a lovely plant and for all who knew Betty a little piece of her garden to treasure.. ZONE 4
One of the sought-after double forms, this has long-lasting soft pink flowers which fills in that necessary whimsical cute element in the garden. Most folks don't even know that their "cute niche" is sorely lacking until they pop one of these little gems in the garden. Good drainage, moist.
