Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Related to A. toumeyana and A. parviflora, this smaller species from mountains of southern and central Arizona is not grown as frequently in favor of larger species. It forms rosettes of narrow, green leaves with a single spine at the tip of each. The rosettes spread to form broad clumps over time. Altogether the plant looks very much like one of the trunkless Yuccas from northern Arizona or southern Utah, but the clumps are much larger and denser. This collection from about 4,800' east of Ruby, Arizona should be hardy to around 10 °F. DS.
