Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Icy silver rosettes, frequently with offsets. This collection is from 7,600' on the west slope of the Sacramento Mountains near Cloudcroft, where it grows in surprisingly dense woodland of mixed pine, gambel oak, and juniper. This is one of the most northerly and highest locations that it will flower and set seed in the wild. These plants may offer the maximum cold-hardiness of any Agave, to possibly to -25 °F if kept dry in winter. This collection is also interesting because it is from a heavily clustering individual of a plant that usually has solitary rosettes. DS.
