Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Coming from mountainous areas of western Arizona, this Agave forms open rosettes of blue-grey leaves up to 2' across. It is not a bulky plant, having a more delicate appearance than many of the hardy Agaves. Although not widely grown, it is quite tolerant of cold and wet conditions: Tim Behan, a grower of cold hardy succulents in Rhode Island found it to be one of the best performing Agaves at a small size for him. This collection from 5,100' in the Hualapi Mountains of Arizona should be hardy to at least -5 °F. Hualapi Mts, AZ 4,900', rare.
