Nursery contributed plant descriptions

South Africa offers up yet another treat! This not often cultivated species is at home in both rock garden & cottage garden settings. Growing to 20” (not monstrous, & not too small either!) it bears starry blue-purple flowers with white centers on long stems above hirsute leaves. Wahlenbergias like to wander a little, but this also makes them a great design tool for merging garden elements together, & they are nothing if not carefree & long blooming! Tolerant of many garden situations, but would be the happiest with rich, well drained soil.
