Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A breakthrough in spinach coloration. Most varieties are shades of green, but ‘Bordeaux’ boasts deep burgundy red ribs & veins contrasting with dark green foliage. Quite an eye-catcher in the garden! Sweeter than other varieties – it’s generally used raw as a colorful addition to salads, but the leaves can also be steamed or sauteed. Plant 6” inches apart in a well fertilized bed & keep watered. Harvest by picking off leaves as needed.
