Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This is a fabulous wildflower from Spain & North Africa. It is tall (24-30") with large 2 ½" single flowers that open up pale blue with green veins, but soon darken to deep blue-violet. A stand of this flower is breathtaking in all its dark blueness. The seed capsule does not inflate like the usual "Love-in-a-Mist", but becomes a deeply grooved cylinder topped with twelve filaments which grow down & twist, giving the impression of a jester's hat. It's super easy to grow & will self sow in your garden. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
