Euphorbia characias ssp. wulfenii is a broadleaf semi-evergreen perennial shrub with blue foliage. In spring, summer and winter chartreuse flowers emerge. Attracts bees making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - mostly shade and regular - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers to be dry in summer. Adapts to various soil conditions. Does well in average, gritty, rocky and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant, seaside / salt tolerant and wind tolerant.

Euphorbia characias ssp. wulfenii is an architectural plant whose blue-green, evergreen foliage and dramatic electric green, spring bracts and flowers are powerful and dramatic in any situation at the middle or back of the border, at the base of an arbour, against a wall, or in large containers. Plants can reach 3-5 feet tall in flower. Flowering lasts for months from early spring to early summer. Cut back each flowering stalk to the base when the bracts begin to whither. Remember: the stems that have not flowered yet will be your flowers for next spring. Deer and rabbit resistant. Drough tolerant.
