Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A tall showy red leafed selection, the lime green heads on 2' stems form an eye-catching contrast to the red foliage, one of the showiest Euphorbias. ZONE 6
Evergreen perennial in most California gardens reaching a height of 2' with a slightly wider spread. Foliage is tinted purple-red and the springtime flowers are bright lime-green. Reseeds willfully in some gardens. Europe, Southwestern Asia.
An absolutely stunning Euphorbia & good garden entertainment to boot! This highly desirable, purple variation of “Wood Spurge” goes thru beautiful & fascinating coloration changes with the seasons, its foliage starting out green in the Spring, with new growth looking like wine-colored blossoms. In late March throughout April, it bursts into a profusion of lime green flower heads almost blotting out the foliage. In Fall & Winter, the upper leaves & stems mature to a “to-die-for” deep purple-ruby. Yum! The following Spring, the leaves become green again. 30” tall & wide. “Wood Spurge” will give the best show in full sun (near the coast), with average to low water & well-drained soil. Will lose some glory after a few years, but will self-sow for fresh new beauties.
