Nursery contributed plant descriptions

These summer-blooming beauties have steel blue spherical flower heads that are bee and butterfly magnets! Statuesque, it adds pleasing contrast to summer blooming coneflowers in all hues. Easy care in well-drained, even gritty soils.
Intensely blue, the surreal-looking globes of this Echinops perch on stalks lined with elegant, jagged-edged gray-green foliage. Backlit by the late afternoon sun and planted en masse, 'Blue Glow's flowers seem to float amidst spiky Muhlenbergia rigens and the dark domes of Angelica gigas.
Globular blue flowers, attractive for cutting, the steely blue cricket hunters, and spider wasps love em, flashing metallic colors as they flick their wings. ZONE 5
Exceptionally easy to grow, this “globe Thistle” likes average to poor soil best and needs little water. Deep blue, spherical 2”globes are held on branching stems over a 6-8 week period in mid to late Summer. The buds are nice to look at even before it opens. Good specimen plant and an excellent cut flower fresh or dried. Very attractive to bees, birds and butterflies! Reseeds!
