Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Shiny Angelica attracts attention. Grow it for its 3' mounds of outstanding glossy foliage and greenish white 4" umbels on 3' stems the second year. It is usually classified as a biennial, but if not allowed to set seed it often comes back for another season. If allowed to go to seed, you will discover many babies, which you can transplant or share with gardening friends.
A New Zealand native, A. pachycarpa has large, jade, almost unbelievably glossy (wear your shades), pinnately arranged leaves that form the backdrop for dense, greenish-white umbels with a pleasant aroma. 3-6' T x 1-3' WMinimum temperature: -15°F
A nearly evergreen perennial, to 2', with very glossy pinnate leaves to over 12" long with toothed leaflets -- all shiny. Small green flowers in ball-like heads quickly turn to seed and are best removed to encourage lush foliage. Full to part sun with regular summer water. Frost hardy to USDA zone 7-9.
Gorgeous glossy green foliage subtends an umbel of small blush in bud white flowers densely packed into a pleasing crown. What's an umbel? Referring to the flower structure - think Queen Anne's Lace. A lovely plant tending towards biennial but kindly self sows so perennial in a sense.
The extremely glossy foliage of this New Zealand native stops everyone in their tracks with “Is it real?” Tough & super easy, it grows quickly into a 3’x3’ perfectly mounded dense form & unlike other Angelicas, it is a true perennial. Creamy 4” flower clusters emit a pleasing fragrance in the Summer. It self-sows quite handily too so you can make nice presents of the seedlings for your friends.
