Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Liz Waterman generously shared with us this RARE, vigorous & distinctive Abutilon, & boy are we smitten! Showy orange bell flowers have prominent red veining & spring from the branches on 4-5” peduncles, making quite a demonstrative display. Over time it grows strongly tree-like – on the side of Liz’s house it looks to be over 20’ tall! I’m certain that it could be kept shorter, though, as with most Abutilons it can be pruned hard to keep smaller & bushier. The leaves are shiny, dark green, & palmate, & hummingbirds love it, of course! Rich soil is best for a nice healthy appearance, as well as regular water. Blooms all year long in frost free zones!
