    Amaranthus caudatus is a broadleaf deciduous annual / biennial with green foliage. In fall and summer burgundy, magenta and red flowers emerge. Attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - mostly sun and regular water. Does well in average, rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant.

    Looking like nothing else in the garden, this old-fashioned annual makes a stunning accent. Long, weeping, dark red tassels are borne above heart shaped leaves Summer thru Fall. It can grow anywhere from 3-8 (!) feet tall & 2’ wide depending on how free you are with your manure. An outrageous cut flower & it retains its color when dried (if you dry it upright). Excellent container plant too.
