Athyrium filix-femina 'Dre's Dagger' is a highly textured and compact version of the lady fern with uniquely criss-crossed, backward-facing pinnae on fronds that terminate in a small, crested, forked tip. The apple green foliage contrasts nicely with the red petioles. Grow in rich soils in shade to morning sun. Herbaceous. Likely a sport of 'Victoriae'.
Athyrium felix-femina Dre's Dagger, also known as 'Crucio Cristata' is a fascinating form of Lady's Fern. She has a compact habit, only reaching 18" in height, with light green crested fronds. The pinnae on each frond create the most interesting criss cross branching pattern. Keep Ladyferns happy in moist fertile well drained soil. Excellent and unusual as a cut green, and lovely in the shade garden.

A more compact form of the sought after Victoria fern.
