Hokkaido Elm. Or Lazy Man's Bonsai. This freak of nature has tiny leaves congested on thin stems emanating from an intensely corky trunk. "Character up the wazoo" is how one bonsai master described this tree. Loves sun and heat and expect a foot of growth every 10 years.
Extremely slow growing with tiny dark green leaves and an interesting trunk. An easy bonsai subject that you'll grow attached to.
