Zn 5. White star-shaped flowers with blue spots.
Tricyrtis 'Blue Wonder' is a hybrid with glossy dark green leaves and a compact habit. The flowers are white or cream with a powdery blue cast and dark purple spots. Grow in bright shade to part sun to bring out the fullness of these colours.
A newer selection with what I'd call typical purple-spotted toad lily flowers. A good grower; lush-green, "clean" foliage. The picture with the azure-blue color and faint spotting gives tribute to "Blue Wonder", however, this is not the always the normal flower color, only during certain conditions, usually during a hot period. The two other pictures show different possible colorings.
A jewel of the shadows, velvet-smooth lily-like flowers are defined by pronounced violet anthers and creamy white and powder blue petals dramatically splashed with bluish purple flecks. Compact gently arching stems and ovate emerald green leaves forge a stylish vase-shaped base for rounded maroon buds and exotic-looking late season flowers. Inheriting hirta and formosana ancestry, 'Blue Wonder' needs to be ensconced along a path where its amazing detail can be easily relished.
Slowly spreading selection with white flowers infused with hues of purple and blue. Starts blooming mid to late summer.
