Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This fabulous selection makes a compact 2-3' mound of deep-green birch-like leaves. This shrub is decorated with a profusion of small flattened clusters of brilliant-white flowers in late spring. Autumn brings exceptional shades of orange, red and purple to the foliage. A perfect addition to the pollinator garden as it is very attractive to butterflies. S/M
Unique among other Spireas for its small oval Birch-like leaves, 'Tor's tightset orderly mounds make a reflective deep green foil for clustered purplish buds and a profusion of sprightly snow white blooms that charm butterflies. Autumn brings additional enticements when the refined foliage premieres orange, red and purple colors. Employed as a mixed border or rockery specimen, or planted en masse along pathways and foundations, this compact deciduous shrub fancies sunshine and periodic pruning. It combines well with silver dappled Pulmonarias or Carex testacea, which provide compelling foliar contrast.
Many of the large spiraeas bloom white, but in the small ones, most are pink, red or lilac. Tor is an exception -- a smaller, white blooming Spiraea. Noted also for it's blue-green summer foliage and great, mixed fall color. Iridescent green leaves turn yellow, bronze and red in the fall. In May the plant bears small, white flowers in showy clusters. Asian native. Very cold hardy.

This compact birch-leaf Spirea is adorned with clusters of white blossoms in May-June. What also makes it remarkable is the exceptional fall color--amber to deep burgundy! 3-4' height x 4' spread.
This is a dwarf Spiraea that grows in a compact, mounded form usually only to about 3' tall and wide. In the spring, shrubs are covered in a multitude of small, dense, flower clusters. Small iridescent leaves on turn an intense red to red-purple in the fall.
