Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Very showy ornamental oregano for sharply drained soil and hot sunny sites (perfect for rock gardens); mounding clumps 12”h x 18”w with fragrant silver green foliage on arching stems tipped with elongated drooping bracts of pink lavender resembling hops August to October. Will cascade over a wall or droop from a mound. Water when dry, don’t cut back till spring when new growth is visible. Critter resistant.
This lovely ornamental (rather than culinary) oregano blooms with masses of hop-like clusters of purplish pink flowers that emerge from chartreuse bracts. As the blossoms mature the bracts turn a striking mauve. The lightly scented foliage is a similar shape to the flower bracts and is bluish green. Easy to grow in average to dry, well-drained soils in full sun. Superior winter drainage is the key to growing this plant well. Drought tolerant. Plant in borders, rock walls, hanging baskets or containers.
A Harlan Hamernik of Bluebird Nursery introduction, this little charmer demands a well drained sandy soil, and is a perfect subject for cascading over a stonewall. Copious pink blossoms protruding from showy chartreuse hoplike bracts perform August through October. 15" x 18". PPAF
Long blooming lavender flowers peer out from narrow green bracts on branched stems held in horizontal fashion. 10 inches tall and wide.
