Though less-scented than other oreganos, this perennial from the mountains of Asia Minor makes up for it in the eye-catching-department with 10-20" stalks of showy purple flowers in late summer; the bees and butterflies enjoy it too. S/M

VERY SHOWY ornamental oregano, 18-24" mounds of silvered green, aromatic leaves topped by clouds of cerise pink in summer – nice cut flower! Excellent specimen for the rock garden, border or container. Full sun, lean well drained soil. Attracts bees and butterflies.

Deep reddish-purple bracts continue the show long after cerise pink flowers have faded. Bees absolutely love it - more than almost anything else in the garden - and deer and drought aren't a problem. 2 feet tall and happily spreading. Minimum temperature: -20°F
