Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Balm-leaved Archangel, native to central/eastern Europe. An easy, non-invasive woodlander with large pink flowers in late spring, and handsome fall foliage. 2' tall and wide.
Tubular reddish-pink flowers with a lip beard (!) appear in late spring. Nicely textured, rounded leaves are sharp at the tip. This classy, under-utilized and friendly nettle, is yet unpleasant for deer and they should turn up their noses and walk away from it. Surprising drought-tolerance has been shown once established. Minimum temperature: -10 °F
Orvala is cool with bold foliage and fantastic flowers, it has been very slow to get going for us although Dick's plants have clumped up nicely, the only possible complaint is that the 4.5cm long flowers are a bit obscured by the foliage. ZONE 4
Throw out your preconceptions about Lamiums because this bears about as much resemblance to those as a Mercedes does to a Ford Pinto. A strong deep-rooted non spreading clumper with textured foliage and pouchy mauve pink flowers for months. Hard to find and choice.
