Blue-green foliage strikingly edged with cream (there?s almost more cream than green!) and white-bracted late-winter flowers make this a dramatic 3' x 3' addition to a dry or Mediterranean garden. S/M-D/GDr PP15715
A shrub-like habit of thick, upward-curved stems surrounded by narrow, green and white leaves. Creamy yellow blooms arrive in Spring, and are especially attractive to butterflies. Prefers full sun conditions and well drained soils. Drought tolerant. Deer and rabbit resistant. Toxic sap to touch and consume.
Evergreen shrubby mounding perennial 2-3’ high and wide with striking foliage, green centered leaves edged brightly in white. Nice used as a dwarf shrub, in the Mediterranean Garden or the border. Deer proof, critters won’t touch it (caustic sap, wear gloves to prune, like all euphorbia). Showy clusters of chartreuse bells in summer. Fairly drought resistant, most soils, easy in sun; plant high.
Zn 7. Pale yellow bracts. Green & white foliage.
One of the most striking variegated plants I've seen in a long time. We had a lovely older lady at the nursery last year who was so enraptured she wanted to grow it as a houseplant in her apartment! 'Tasmanian Tiger' is a spectacular Heronswood introduction discovered in Hobart, Tasmania. The upright three foot tall stems are clothed with blue foliage edged in creamy white. The large flower heads are variegated with gold and white. Good drainage and full sun essential.
Calling this plant Variegated Spurge doesn't do it justice. Creamy white edged foliage clothe sturdy stems reaching 2' or more, terminating with sprays of showy vareigated bracts that read as blossoms. Some literature lists 'Tasmanian Tiger' as hardy in zone 6, but we think that it would have to be in a very sheltered to be so. It makes an excellent seasonal container specimen, blooming over a long season from late spring through summer. Give this Euphorbia a sandy well drained soil, and pair with other Mediterraneum type plants for easy care combinations.
A long running favorite of Dancing Oaks visitors and staff. Evergreen foliage is vibrantly variegated cream and dark green. Flower bracts emerge white and pale yellow. PP15715
