Dicentra formosa ‘Luxuriant’ is a compact perennial that displays cherry-red, heart-shaped flowers. The fern-like foliage is bright green and a standout in its own right. Plant in average, well-drained soil. Bleeding Heart is great in flowers beds, edgings, or mass plantings. Remove spent foliage in late spring before new growth appears.
Commonly known as Western bleeding heart, this perennial is great for borders, cottage gardens or wildflower gardens. Cherry-red, heart-shaped flowers are borne on racemes above ferny foliage from mid-spring through the summer.
