Nursery contributed plant descriptions

‘King of Hearts’ is a compact bleeding heart hybrid that produces nicely-textured, deeply-cut, ferny, bluish-green foliage in a mound to eight inches tall and fourteen inches wide. The rich carmine-rose coloured flowers are nodding, heart-shaped, and held above the foliage. The initial bloom occurs in spring but plants will likely bloom throughout summer and into fall in cool, shady conditions. A cross of the Japanese D. peregrina with two American species D. formosa subsp. oregana and D. eximia.
This gorgeous hybrid of Japanese and American Dicentra species creates a royal combination of some the largest dark rose heart-shaped flowers contrasting beautifully with the most sumptuous, lacy, soft blue-green foliage in a duet that is simply divine; a good neighbor which spreads only slowly. Zn 3. Compact fern-like foliage. Deep rose flowers
One of the few perennials that will bloom most of the summer (given constant moisture). Bright pink-red flowers are set off by blue-green, ferny leaves, on a low mounded plant. It's the result of a cross of the Japanese species D. peregrina with two American species D. formosa subsp. oreganaand D. eximia and does not go dormant during the summer.

This hybrid combines large dark rose flowers with the most sumptuous, lacy, true blue foliage in a duet that is incomparable. It is a good neighbor and spreads slowly forming multi-seasonal mounds. In addition, it doesn't go summer dormant!
Rosy pink flowers from May-August with slightly gray green foliage that highlights the flowers. Has performed very well at Dancing Oaks. 12" x 12"
