Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Named for plantsman Lawrence Crocker that was part owner with Boyd Kline of Siskiyou Rare Plant Nursery. This daphne will get 8”x12” in time. The deep green narrow leaves are a superb backdrop for the purple flowers in May.
A great plant honoring a great person and plantsman, this hybrid of Daphne arbuscula and D. collina produces its fragrant rose-pink flowers from purple buds ALL season! atop a compact 12" mound of dark hairy foliage. S-PSh/GDr
Lawrence Crocker' is a diminutive evergreen Daphne hybrid (S. arbuscula x D. collina) which typically grows in a mound to 12 inches tall and as wide. It is a dense, slow-growing shrub which features narrow, thickly-textured, dark green, evergreen leaves and fragrant deep pink flowers which bloom from late spring into summer. From the garden of Lawrence Crocker, one of the founders of the Siskiyou Rare Plant Nursery in Medford, Oregon. Do not move after planting.
One of the best small Daphne hybrids, Medfordensis (Susannae) 'Lawrence Crocker' is a vigorous cross between arbuscula and collina and taking after the former, from the garden of the legendary plantsman and Siskiyou founder of the same name.
This Daphne has fragrant, showy, deep pink flowers, which bloom from May to June. This Daphne thrives in part sun and makes for a perfect hedge.
Well, we have to say this little Daphne, just under a foot tall at maturity, is very undemanding. It has been living in our rockery (read: excellent drainage) for almost 2 decades and has never sulked or disappointed. Semi-evergreen, it forms a low mound covered in spring with fragrant pink flowers. 3-4" plants.
Fragrant, lavender flowers bloom spring through fall. Glossy evergreen foliage, good drainage, Zones 7-9.
The rich pink purple flowers bloom all through the summer on top of the narrow, dark green leaves. 'Lawrence' grows only 3" tall and 12" wide making it a perfect addition to a rock garden.
