I’m switching things up today and sharing my Wednesday Vignette (a blogger’s meme hosted by Anna at Flutter & Hum) image here, rather than over on my personal blog, danger garden. Why? It’s Garden Blogger’s Bloomday — the day to share images of what’s blooming in your garden — so I’m posting my flower photos over there.

However as you all know I’m always happy to sing the praises of foliage over flower, one a fleeting joy and the other the basis of a year-round garden. This image — taken at Old Germantown Gardens (a stop on the 2014 Garden Bloggers Fling) — illustrates how foliage can truly make a garden. The mixture of colors and textures, wowsa! I visited this garden in late May and took a gazillion photos, more to come just as soon as I get around to editing them down…
