Descriptions of Physocarpus opulifolius 'Coppertina'
This French hybrid is a feast for the eyes with its coppery orange spring growth. As the season progresses, the foliage deepens to red. This variety has the typical ninebark habit, including its white blooms midseason that shine bright against the warm colored foliage and are followed by red seed capsules. In winter the shredded copper bark is a lovely sight on older stems; this is a year round performer! PPAF
Another colored Ninebark bred in France for the dramatic orange-copper spring foliage that, with maturity, changes to rich red. A cross between dark 'Diablo' and golden 'Darks Gold'. White button-like blooms appear in early and look wonderful against the dark foliage. Also, it has wonderful peeling bark and red seed capsules. PP16371
The wonderful orange-copper spring foliage of this 8-10' shrub matures to bright red; white-button summer flowers become showy red seed capsules... a colorful addition for the hedge border. Sun/Med(not dry) PPatent16371
Orange-copper spring growth, turns reddish bronze. Pink-white flowers summer, can prune to mange size
This new ninebark selection is a hybrid of 'Dart's Gold' and 'Diablo', and the result is glowing copper foliage in new growth deepening to a rich red as the summer goes on.
New growth on this selection has hues of terra cotta that deepen to dark burgundy. Shrub with a rounded form growing 6 ft x 6 ft.
(P.O. Mindia PPAF) A hybrid between P. 'Darts Gold' and P. 'Diablo'. The French hybrid has purple foliage with copper highlights especially in spring. We could imagine this plant as a background for perennials or other plants in the garden.
