A spectacular variety of Mahonia x media, 'Winter Sun' produces months of fragrant yellow flowers that feed the pollinators in late fall and early winter. Bluish fruits are a favorite of Cedar Waxwings, if you're lucky enough to receive a visit from a flock. A nice manageable medium sized evergreen shrub that can be pruned to stay on the smaller side. Gorgeous whols of evergreen leaves have an almost tropical vibe, especially when the new growth emerges in orangey shades reminiscent of a beautiful sunrise.
